The Art Society Africa was founded in 2011 with the objective
of promoting the art and practice of painting in all media
to complement the Watercolour Soicety Africa (which was founded
in 1975).
We are dedicated to promoting the awareness and appreciation
of art in all media, and to provide our members of all levels
of ability opportunities and venues for participation, education,
fellowship, and exhibitions.
We are an exciting and growing organization and we invite
all with an interest in art and painting from novice to professional
to join us.
There are three levels of membership.
Ordinary Member is our entry-level membership and New Signature
Member is our second tier level achieved by having paintings
accepted into ASA juried New Signature exhibitions.
Our third level of membership is the sought after Associateship,
which is earned by having ten points earned by having paintings
accepted for Open exhibitions. The member earns the privilege
of using the AASA letters after their name.
The highest level is Higher Associateship, when the member
earns the privilege of using the letters HAASA after their
name.
